The Good Egg Celebrant – Terms and Conditions
1. Introduction
The Good Egg Celebrant is committed to delivering highly professional, heartfelt, and memorable ceremonies for all clients. These terms and conditions are designed to ensure transparency and clarity regarding the services provided.
By booking The Good Egg Celebrant, you agree to these terms and conditions. Once booked you will be supplied with copies of these terms and conditions. Please read them carefully, sign, and return a copy, keeping one for your records. Failure to do so may result in the withdrawal of celebrancy services.
2. Legal Status of Ceremonies
Wedding ceremonies conducted by The Good Egg Celebrant are not legally binding. If you wish to formalise your marriage legally, it is your responsibility to arrange this separately with the relevant legal authorities.
3. Booking, Payment, and Cancellations
• A non-refundable booking fee of £100 is required to secure your ceremony date.
• The remaining balance must be paid in full, with cleared funds, at least 14 days before the ceremony date.
• If you cancel your ceremony, The Good Egg Celebrant reserves the right to retain any payments made. Any refund is at the discretion of The Good Egg Celebrant.
• If the ceremony date needs to be rescheduled, The Good Egg Celebrant will endeavour to find a mutually suitable alternative.
4. Ceremony Content and Approval
• The Good Egg Celebrant will work closely with you to craft a personalised ceremony, requiring completion of a Ceremony Questionnaire, as well as meetings (in person, via video call, phone, or email).
• Clients must provide requested information within a reasonable timeframe. Failure to do so may result in the withdrawal of services, with payments retained.
• The final version of the ceremony script must be approved two weeks before the ceremony date.
5. Changes to the Ceremony
• Any last-minute changes to the ceremony (e.g., music, vows, readings, participants) must be communicated with at least two weeks’ notice before the ceremony date.
• It is the client’s responsibility to obtain approval from the venue for unity ceremonies (e.g., candle lighting, handfasting, wine ceremonies).
6. Liability and Responsibility
• The Good Egg Celebrant is not responsible for any accidents or injuries that occur during the ceremony, including those related to unity rituals.
• Any food, drink, or materials used in unity ceremonies must be provided by the client to accommodate allergies or dietary requirements.
7. Travel and Accommodation
• Travel costs are £0.45 per mile for journeys exceeding 30 miles from our Brighton base (the first 30 miles are free).
• The Good Egg Celebrant is happy to travel across the UK and internationally. All international travel and accommodation costs will be at the cost of the client and part of the billing costs.
• For ceremonies over 100 miles away, an overnight stay is recommended to prevent delays due to traffic or unforeseen circumstances. this will be at the cost of the client and part of the billing costs.
8. Lateness and Non-Attendance
• The Good Egg Celebrant will not be held responsible for lateness caused by circumstances beyond control (e.g., traffic, weather conditions).
• If clients fail to attend or inform The Good Egg Celebrant of delays, the celebrant reserves the right to leave the venue after one hour.
9. GDPR and Privacy
• Clients must provide GDPR consent to allow The Good Egg Celebrant to collect, store, and process personal data for communication purposes, in compliance with UK data protection laws.
10. Photography and Social Media
• The Good Egg Celebrant is happy for any photographs in which they appear to be shared on social media.
• Clients agree to allow images of the ceremony to be used for promotional purposes, provided written permission is obtained from the photographer or image owner.
• Any objections to the use of images must be submitted in writing.
